International Development Association supports the second phase of the Rogun Hydropower Project in Tajikistan

The World Bank's Board of Directors has approved a US$300 million grant from the International Development Association (IDA) to support the second phase of the Rogun Hydropower Project in Tajikistan.
Building on the US$350 million IDA grant approved in 2024, the additional financing will help advance construction of the Rogun Hydropower Plant while supporting dam safety, environmental and social measures, and improved reservoir operations.
The project supports Tajikistan's efforts to strengthen energy security in the country and expand access to reliable, clean electricity in Central Asia.
