Project Background

 

The Government of the Republic of Tajikistan has applied for financing from the World Bank in the amount of US$15,000,000 toward the cost of the Technical Assistance for Financing Framework for Rogun Hydropower Project.

 

Main objectives of the assignment

 

The main task carried out by Project Coordinator is day to day management of the TA Project activities, supervising the schedules of deliverables and outputs under various consulting contracts, coordination of consultants’ activities, including communication with consultants on various substantive, procurement, financial management, and other contractual issues, lead the dissemination process of key documents to key project stakeholders, ensuring implementation and compliance of TA Project activities with the provisions of legal agreements, act as the focal point for communication with development partners that may be involved in the financing of the construction, act as the focal point for the Dam Safety Panel of Experts and the Environmental and Social Panel of Experts, etc.

Qualification requirements:

 

  • At least Master’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, economics, or other relevant field.
  • At least ten (10) years of experience in project management in infrastructure projects financed by the World Bank, other International Financial Institutions (IFIs), or the private sector, including experience in coordination or management of activities in hydropower projects.
  • Fluency in Tajik, Russian and English languages.
  • Computer skills, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to Section III, paragraphs, 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17 of the World Bank’s “Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers” July 2016 and revised November 2017, August 2018, and November 2020 (“Procurement Regulations”), setting forth the World Bank’s policy on conflict of interest.
